The Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases (IID) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant or associate professor. The academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and productivity. IID faculty research is focused on gut microbiome, and immune interactions at barrier surfaces. The successful applicant will hold a PhD and/or MD degree and will have a record of outstanding productivity in an area of microbiome studies and/or immunology, as it relates to the microbiota. The candidate should possess the ability to work collaboratively with other scientists and the scholarly qualities required to mentor doctoral students in the PhD Program in Biological Sciences in Public Health within Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Generous start-up packages and state-of-the-art research facilities will be available. IID has particular interest in recruiting individuals with research programs in the following areas:
• Microbiome-host interactions and microbiome-immune interactions • Mechanisms underlying microbiota-immune control in infectious diseases and infection models • Systems biology/chemical biology approaches, applied at a mechanistic level, to problems of host-microbiome interactions at barrier sites
