Operations Control strives to assist our Operational Services and Client Business Partners in mitigating risk through a well-balanced control environment. Our mission is to protect the client, firm assets and information by partnering with businesses and technology. We offer a variety of enterprise-wide control services that will assist our partners in balancing efficiency, cost, and risk while ensuring regulatory and corporate policy compliance.
You will play a leadership role in the Operational Control Program with specific responsibilities for the delivery of reconciliations to various business partners, oversight of the daily compliance with the Customer Protection Rule for securities, and approval and ongoing maintenance of non-customer accounts opened at the broker/dealer.
What you’ll do:
Lead a team that performs thorough analysis, reporting, and oversight of the firms’ asset and account data.
Provide accurate reconciliations for our business partners across the firm to safeguard client assets and secure the company’s reputation.
Ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements by developing control solutions, monitoring transaction activity, and administering the internal accounts life cycle.
Ensure compliance with the Customer Protection Rules (Rule 15c3-3) for securities. This includes delivering guidance and best practices to business lines in complying with the Customer Protection Rules for securities.
Work directly with regulators, auditors, and internal lines of defense in the review of underlying processes and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Partner with Technology teams to modernize our reconciliation and exception processes using agile methodology.
Foster a highly collaborative partnership with Operational Services with a focus on standardizing processes and progressing our control environment.
Lead a team in performing root cause analysis and exception reviews to identify common themes/trends/patterns leading to upstream process improvement and team efficiency gains.
Use data driven analysis to identify where the control environment for Operations can progress through automation and risk prevention.
Cultivate and maintain high level of employee engagement by establishing a work environment that allows a team of 30+ individuals to flourish.
What you have:
Excellent understanding of operational processes performed at a broker/dealer and the risks associated with the various lines of business.
Excellent understanding of the role controls play in managing and mitigating risk.
Ability to manage competing priorities using a risk based approach while delivering results on time.
Experience with auditors and regulators with the ability to clearly explain complex processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse organization.
Superior decision making in situations requiring immediate action as well as those involving long term strategic goals.
Experience in creating a strategic plan and use of influencing skills to gain agreement and drive change.
Minimum 8 years of experience leading, managing, developing people.
Experience learning complex business processes and creating simplified solutions.
Series 7, 9/10 and/or 24 licenses (may consider as a condition of employment)
